Leilani doesn't really mind being held by people she doesn't know, not even a 6 foot Easter Bunny with crazy fashion sense, but that doesn't mean she's gonna smile about it.

Bumbolina
Leilani enjoying some big girl time in her new Bumbo chair. There was no age requirement on the box, only the stipulation that your baby be able to hold it's own head up. That's no problem for this over-achiever.

Meatball turns 4 months old
Oh where has the time gone? She has accomplished so much in so little time. She smiles, laughs, rolls from tummy to back/back to tummy, holds her head up, grasps her toys and tries to feed herself a bottle. By six months I predict she'll start to crawl, crouch and strafe in her first Call of Duty multiplayer match. Who knows, maybe she'll have unlocked the ACR 6.8 Assault Rifle by then, she's pretty advanced.

Like riding a bike
I don't know if my mom can still ride a bike, but she sure hasn't lost her touch when it comes to being a mother. In fact, it's kinda making me jealous that she is so easily able to put Leilani down for naps, and long naps at that. I came downstairs on several occasions to grab a drink or snack only to find Leilani completely passed out in my mom's arms each time. That may not seem like a big feet, but for as long as I've known Leilani, long afternoon naps has never been her thing. She sleeps well at night but during the day she'll more commonly take 10-20 minute naps tops. My mom had her napping anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours at least 3 or 4 times on her first day babysitting. WTH? To say the least, we're all very happy to have her here, but more importantly Leilani and my mom are truly enjoying spending time with one another.

A loving glance
Sheyanne and Leilani sharing a loving glance. I look forward to the time when Leilani comes home excited to tell me about how much fun she had with each of her Aunts. She definitely has some pretty awesome ones.

The booger sucker
If you're in the market for a good booger sucker, and you don't have to have a baby to be in the market, let me just tell you, the Graco Nasal Aspirator is pretty sweet. Jen and I bought several of the traditional bulb nostril suckers and there is just no comparison. Besides Leilani hated us using those on her, but actually enjoys this one. It vibrates, so I guess it feels kinda good. It's about $20, but worth it. It's basically a battery operated vacuum for your baby's snot.

Parenting it old school
Everything I've heard from my parents about raising kids back in their day sounds highly unsafe. The quote "Well, we didn't worry about those things back then" came up a lot. Car seats didn't exist, and for that matter neither did seat belts. So I guess I just kinda rolled around on the back seat with the groceries. Oh how safety standards have changed.

Fan demand
Blog viewership hit an all-time high Monday with 87 views. Leilani is truly flattered and promises to step up her cuteness to meet demand.

Moonlighting
I think my baby might be moonlighting as a Fisher Price model. I came across this Fisher Price Soothe & Glow Seahorse, which we actually own, but my box has a different baby on it. This would explain why Leilani sleeps through the night. She's not actually sleeping at all. She crawls in the back door at about 4 in the morning after her all-night modeling shoots and wrap parties and pretends to have been sleeping all night. This pic is kinda freaking me out. Did Jen secretly give up one of our twins? I'll have to try and take an identical shot of her holding her pink seahorse one of these days.
It's a bit out of focus, but take a look at this blog post and tell me this isn't my baby. Click here

Missing Mommy
The dreaded day is finally upon us. Mommy has to return to work. Leilani was like "Whuuuu? Who's gonna watch me?" Though many others would have also happily taken this job, Grandma Jill was given the honors of Nanny.

The joys of fatherhood
Ohhh boy, this little girl is going to be beautiful. That makes me as much happy as it does nervous. I'm taking recommendations on what type of weapon I should clean during my heart-to-heart with the boy who thinks he's good enough to date my daughter. I was thinking a machete. It's never too early to think about this kind of stuff.

Pot o' gold
Happy St. Patty's day everyone. Iyyy, you'll never get me pot o' gold. So, here's a Leilani fact: Leilani is 1/8th Irish. Her grandfadder is half Irish and has blue eyes, as does Jen. I'm glad that so far Leilani has got her mutter's eyes. Luck of the Irish I guess.

Happy Friday
Here's a video of Leilani laughing at my goofy noises. This wasn't the first time she's laughed, but certainly the first time she's gone on for that long. The cuteness of her laugh had us cracking up by the end. Click the image below to view the video.

Caught in a laugh
Leilani thought me blowing kisses to her was pretty funny today. It's either that or my goofy face. It's still not quite a full-out laugh yet, more of a chuckle, but I'm not complaining. It's a heart-melter for sure.

Okay be serious, seriously
I specifically asked Jen not to smile for this photo, because it's just in her nature to smile. I personally think it's much more interesting to look at a straight or serious face. Maybe it's that the absence of emotion leaves more to the imagination about what the person is thinking or feeling.

Good night, sleep tight
Geeez, look at those neck rolls. And this isn't even a recent picture. My little girl laughed yesterday for the first time. It was adorable. Then we laughed at her laughing and she laughed some more. I can't wait for this to become a regular thing.

Heads up
Look at that girl hold her head up. I'm so proud of Jen. Har har! Anyway, Leilani has always had pretty good head control, but she's really lifting that big head high as of late.

Reunited and it feels so good
I've reunited with my daughter after four very long days away. It's never easy to say goodbye to my wife when I travel, but now it's nearly impossible. It's so good to be home.
