New blog alert!
With the addition of Brandon to the family, I thought it time to update the blog as well. So this will be the last post to this blog. :( It served us well. You can now visit leilaniandbrandon.com for all future news about these two.

What's Baylor doing?
Meet Leilani's newest playmate, Baylor. He's a cat of the people, which is why he prefers to hide his more stately title, Lord Baylore of Novgorad. He's adjusting well to the family. He's very lovable and ragdoll-y, meaning he flops like a ragdoll when you hold him. Leilani plays with him constantly, which is good since Lily is still hazing the new guy. Leilani is always asking what we, or everyone else is doing, and since Baylor joined us, the trending question is "What's Baylor doing?" To which the answer is, sleeping, playing, or sleeping.

Pet a penguin day
What luck, we went to the aquarium on the day when they were having a Penguin Petting Exhibit. Leilani got to touch a real penguin! They let all the penguins loose in a pen and the kids get to run around with them. I'm just joking. That's not a real penguin. It was however, swim with electric eels day. She loved that.

Kuhhh-Rayyy-Zee
I know, I know. That looks high, but rest easy knowing that we played it safe. She could have gone a whole lot higher than that. :) She had fun and it was perfectly safe according to the gypsy lady with no particular credentials. But dang it if she didn't have a blast!

Big sister
Leilani is going to be a big sister. Not in a hypothetical, some day kind of way, I mean she is a big sister. It's a boy! She's got a lot of experience under her belt. Her brother is going to be in good hands. I would have been just as happy if it were a girl, but I'm definitely going to need an extra man in this family to keep the boys away from Leilani. Look at this girl. Ohhhh boy is right!

Rockin' Eggstravaganza
We were prepared for this year's egg hunt, which lasted all or 27 seconds. We had done some pre-egg hunt training around the house. The day-of result = 7 eggs. Not her fault. That was a large pull compared to the poor kids who probably got 1 or none based on the extremely low kid-to-egg ratio. This year was an even more extreme resistance to wanting to see the Easter Bunny. She didn't even want to see his dumb furry face from a far! Hence, no photos with Peter Cottontail.
Per request, we rocked the night away on Rock Band. Leilani got in on the action with a little vocals. I think she sang some Metallica or Rage Against the Machine or something. That's her thing! When she wasn't killin' it on vocals she was dancing like a manic. She had a great Easter!

Cruzin', on a Sunday afternoon
This baby ain't exactly street legal, but Leilani doesn't exactly play by the rules. She's been known to eat dessert before dinner or put her pants on second to her shoes. Thanks Auntie Shey-Shey for my first car! First of many!

Magic Mirror on the Wall
Sometimes you just gotta stop and stare. Maybe put on some cat ears and a 10 minute fashion show. It just happens that way. Maybe do a twirl and kiss yourself. Then sometimes Leilani will join in and I have to give up my mirror time. Fine! She's cuter anyhow.

Pedal to the metal
The wind in her hair, the sun on her face, and "Da" beside her guiding her on her maiden voyage. Though she can't quite touch the pedals just yet, I imagine at the pace I'm making posts these days, she'll be riding by before the next post.

Chub, Chub, Goose!
Leilani is a pretty shy child as it goes, but that never has applied to other children. She is in fact, the exact opposite when it comes to kids. It doesn't even have to be children she knows, she just love being in the mix. We spent a day near a pond that had dozens of ducks and wide open grass areas. Mix kids and open areas to run and she's set.
